My Growing Story makes personalized children's books. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what happens to it. The short version: we store only what you type, we use it to make one book for one child, and we delete it on request. No photos, ever.

What we collect
When you build a book you give us the details you choose to type: your child's first name, birthday, whether the hero is a boy or a girl, appearance details (skin tone, hair, eye color), a favorite thing, look notes, the occasion, a dedication, and optional gift details (gift message, recipient email, send date). Your own contact and order information is collected by Shopify, which hosts our store. Payment details are handled entirely by the payment processor and never reach us.
What we never collect
Photos of your child. Our books are illustrated from your written description only. We do not ask for, accept, or store photographs, and we never collect information from children directly.
A note on children's information
Our store is for adults. All information about a child is provided by a parent, guardian, or gift-giving adult who confirms they have the right to share it. We use it for exactly one purpose: creating that child's book. We do not build profiles of children, we do not use children's information for marketing, and we do not sell or share it with anyone except as described below.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers needed to deliver your order: our print partner receives the finished book file and your shipping address to print and ship it; our email provider delivers your digital edition; Shopify processes the order. None of them may use your information for anything else.
How long we keep it
We keep book details so we can fix errors, reprint, and create next-year books if you choose the 3-Book Journey. You can ask us to delete everything at any time by emailing hello@mygrowingstory.com, and we will, promptly and completely.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold, correct it, or have it deleted, any time. Email hello@mygrowingstory.com and a human will handle it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new effective date. Effective: July 2026.
